Suggestions for a bartop on a budget...
« on: January 02, 2016, 08:09:59 pm »
I got 3 flat screen monitors just taking up space, got some older Dell's with Duo core chips in them.
Was really wondering is there any places that I ma have missed that sell bartop kits, I seen 2 sellers on ebay I been eye balling one for 80$, with no T-molding and another for 115$ with T-Molding and can tailor the bartop control panel to my needs, and I want just one player type panel, plan on using hyperspin with MAME and maybe some older classic consoles on it.

List so far...?

PC got it
Monitor got it
Control and buttons, seen kits out there cheap but not really sure about the encoders
I really like the I-pac
I am think I need a power strip?
speakers, have not looked for these yet
T-Molding
Graphics on vinyl, I think I can get local for a fair price
possibly plexiglas for marquee and bezel

Well I guess any suggestions for lower end prices on these or anything I forgot, I do prefer to build from a kit rather than do my on wood working, and I do not want to buy a completely finished one either, I think I can save lost of money this way.

Any thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated I started setting up the PC these last few days, but I need to start buying some stuff.

Thank you.

Go with a xin mo controller. I've had good luck with those.

As for the controls, that's not a good area to skimp. Get what you want.

You may think your going to save big money by DIY, but that's not always the case, those kits (even assembled) are really competitively priced, You could easily spend more on the build than just buying one. The cost saving on tools is planning on making them for like ever, and multiple.
