Is it possible to take the power switch  and power led output from a PC motherboard and connect to a led push button?  I want to have a arcarde button light up and power on my PC using the pwr and pwr led pins on my motherboard.

Sure, as long as the LED in the button works with the voltage coming from the motherboard LED connection.

Do a forum search for "vandal switch" and you'll find lots of related posts.

Cheers so if button like the below is 5v and motherboard connection is same I should be OK .

If by "button like the below" you forgot to attach a pic like this, then yes.



The two QD tabs for the LED are 0.250" and the two QD tabs for the microswitch are usually 0.187".

The motherboard side of the wiring is usually two 0.100" (Dupont) sockets.

Paradise Arcade Shop has some prefabs like the one here with 0.187" QDs if you're planning on placing an order with them.



Robotics and radio control sites are also good places to check for prefab harnesses.
