Wiring led buttons on i pac ultimate
« on: December 27, 2015, 04:30:43 pm »
I have a I pac ultimate and was wanting to know how to wire the leds onto it as I cannot find any instructions.  I have the buttons wired up just not the leds.

Do I put leds 1-3 on pins 1-3 and on the 4th pin all the ground wires for the 3 leds and so on for all the leds.

Each RGB LED has four connections to the IPac Ultimate. You should see RGBY labelled below the first set of pins (1-48) and YBGR below the second set (49-96). Ultimarc LEDs come wired with yellow for ground.

OK thanks for that.  So one wire is + and the other wire go's to ground.  But which pin is ground on the board for the leds is it the 4th pin of the row of 4.

So would I put the + red on pin 1 + yellow on pin 2 + green on pin 3 and the ground wire from the 3 leds goto pin 4 which I assume would be the ground pin of the row of 4 pins.

Ultimarc LEDs come wired with yellow for ground.
Arcade RGB LEDs are almost always common anode (+), not common cathode (-).

AFAIK Yellow is the operating voltage and the Red, Green, and Blue wires are the grounds.

Yep, I was mistaken.

See the attachment for the LED wiring labels of the IPac UIO. They are +RGB and BGR+.

http://ultimarc.com/pacled64.html

Andy has some instructions on wiring LEDs on his site (see link above).

Each LED must have its negative connection (cathode) connected to one of the numbered pins 1-64.
Each LED must also have its positive (anode) connection connected to one of the supply pins marked “+”. Note it does not matter which of the “+” pins you use as they are all connected together on the board.
You can daisy-chain multiple LED + connections and connect to one + pin.

:applaud: Best of luck. Be sure to download the software from his site to map out the buttons. You can also use LED blinkey, which has numerous programmed lighting options in its free download.

If you plan to use a front end like Hyperspin, then I would recommend LED Blinkey. Rocket Launcher or HyperSpin HQ (I can't remember off the top of my head) has a link feature to LED Blinkey that allows you to program different lighting features during gameplay, menu, startup etc.
