Is the A button on NeoGeo CP meant for thumb or index finger?
« on: January 11, 2004, 10:17:28 am »
I was just wondering since I've never played on a real NeoGeo machine before, is the button layout meant for your four fingers (index, middle, ring, pinky) or is it meant for thumb, index, middle, ring. Thanks :p Don't blame me for asking stupid questions ;)

Thumb and three fingers.  It's not a stupid question.. I see people playing neogeo games "wrong" all the time and I think it's funny that they wonder why their hands hurt afterwards.

I quite like using my index finger on some games that require <=3 buttons

I use my index finger because I don't play fighters.  I don't need 4 buttons then :)
I can definately see using the thumb in 4 button games.  I don't have enough control in my pinky to pull off combos.

You guys aren't looking right (or your bad at counting)  thumb and three fingers means thumb, index middle and the one after that.  No pinky is used.  :)

And you didn't read my comment carefully I said I'd use my thumb if I was into fighters (implying then I wouldn't be using my pinky) because I odn;t have enough coordination to use my pinky to pull off combos.

Perhaps you are bad at counting HC, only 1 person (SirP) mentioned 'pinky's.  You said 'You guys' (plural).   :P LOL  :)
