Mech coin: one coin, multiple credits.
« on: December 13, 2015, 04:28:53 am »
Hi. First of all, please sorry for my terrible english.

Well, as I said above: I have Pandora Box 3. Cabinet has one mech coin on the left side for coin with low value and on the right side is mech coin for coins with highest value. Mech coins cannot be set for multiple credits, only via game PCB.

Before I got Pandora box 3, I use Jamma 60in1 PCB. This board can be set for coin ratio for each mech coin. But Pandora has setting only for both mechs together. So:

is there any way, how to get from the mech coin with highest value two credits into the game? For exaple: some simple pcb with "switch impulse repeater", or any microswitch with double "impulse". Or any thing from Aliexpress /Ebay?

Many thanks, I cannot found solution for this over half year. And again, sorry for my english.

It should be possible to wire in one of these to do what you want.  http://www.onecircuit.com/CoinUp.  Instead of hooking it to the 1 player button, you could hook it to the coin mech and have it insert the appropriate number of credits.

Hmm, interesting. Seems can solve my problem. Thanks!

But unfortunately no shipping to Europe :(

Any other ideas?

Did you contact them?

They may be willing to ship to Europe if you ask nicely, even if they don't actually have it as an option on their website.

It certainly looks like an elegant solution to your problem.

How many credits do you need to start the game?
You could set the dip switch setting on the CoinUp so that 1 coin = 2 credits. Then hook the CoinUp to the right coin switch which is for the larger coin value. If 2 large coins is enough to start the game then you would be all set and can still use the P1 start button to start the game.

may be able to do what you need, I'm having a hard time interpreting exactly what the different functions do.  But it seems like it might be able to do what you need using one of it's triggered finite loop functions....

Can I broke my Pandora Box 3 when I choose bad mode?

I've installed one of these and it works great.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Multi-Coin-Acceptor-Selector-Mechanism-Vending-machine-/250593770728

It lets you accept many types of coins and also set the number of credits per coin.

I have mine configured for quarter - one credit
penny - 10 credits.

works great. requires a power source.

I just installed mine yesterday with zero issues deep inside my cabinet.  I soldered it directly to my wiring harness that plugs into the PCB.  Zero issues.  http://onecircuit.com/CoinUp

Mine didn't require a power source as noted by Adam in the manual:  "...there is no need to connect the +5v terminal to the +5v power supply that powers your game.A simple way to check is to install the CoinUp without connecting the +5v terminal and power up the game. Using a voltmeter, measure across the +5v and Ground terminals of the CoinUp. If the voltage is less than +3v you should consider connecting the +5v terminal."

So you don't need to install it onto the cabinet door.

Edit:  Added a video on my Youtube channel with it installed:

OK, this seems really good, as said one member above too.

But few days ago, I bought this item: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Brand-New-High-Quality-Newest-12V-DC-Multifunction-Self-lock-Relay-PLC-Cycle-Timer-Module-Delay/32444402425.html
