Groovy mame pick up specific game resolution
« on: December 12, 2015, 03:40:01 am »
Hi!

I have got a question about user defined modelines in groovy mame. I would like to get groovy mame to pick up a specific modeline created in the arcade osd for a specific game instead of entering the corresponding values into groovy mame.ini. I do not really know how this actually works. The description says that one should drop a raw modeline for a specific game (with the values created in arcade osd) into the game ini folder. Here is the problem. Where do I find the game ini order for a specific game? All I can find are the cfg files for the games that I started or configured when playing them. Do I have to create the game ini file by myself? What do I write into mame ini file? At present I use custom with specific values adapted for different games but of course when I choose another game I always have to rewrite the values in order to display the game properly (full screen)

regards,

If I remember correctly You need put just one line in ini for specific game for example - 1943.ini (put in ini subfolder):

modeline                  5.50 256 288 320 352 240 241 244 260 -hsync -vsync

This is only an example. Don't use it to test this feature (modeline works on my TV but it might cause problems for You).
