Golden Tee Fore Complete 2005 - HELP
« on: November 12, 2015, 05:23:53 pm »
I have the Golden Tee 2005 with a Red board

D20, Stat1 LED is on solid
D5A, Stat2 LED is blinking
IDE Activity LED, appears to be a RED LED and it is on very faintly.

D20 should be blinking....so what does this mean?

disconnect the hard drive and see if the game complains the drive cannot be found. if it does, the drive is faulty, if it's still weird check your voltages (or swap the power supply) and make sure your removable IC chips are pressed into their sockets. remove and reinstall the video card. if you have a modem board (small green plug in circuit board near the phone cord plugs), remove it. it's no longer used and causes more problems than it's worth.

if it's still weird there could be something more wrong with the board and it may need to be replaced.

There is no output from the system overall; no sound, no video, only the LED indicators.
THe 2.5V, 3.3V, 5.0V. 12V  all seem good
Disconnecting the hard drive has no effect.
I examined all the socketed ICs and all seems fine.
No modem board that I have noticed

Just trying to narrow down the hunt.   The one LED that is not flashing is likely the key,but I have found zero on what it means and which circuits it applies to.

I just tried reseating the video card.  Now both status leds blink.   Removing the card and I see the IDE light come on.
So maybe its the video card.   What are my options for finding a replacement?  Which video cards are supported by this 2005 system?

The Golden Tee Fore! series boards all have interchangeable video cards.  Any working video card from this hardware set would work for you.  Problem is, it is hard to find just a working video card for sale.

ask around some of the vendors in your area...they probably have a bunch of them sitting around.

failing that, if you can't source one locally, I can get you one.

Searching the web, I found a few references to 3DFX boards.  But there was never a mention as to the model number.
I live out in the country...no vendors here.  However I do have an old friend which might know someone.
