Using the default ipac4 keybinds and default mames keymapping everything worked fine but player 3 didnt work. I went into mames tab menu and remapped all the controls to make sure everything was mapped.
Now im getting this "hypersplash32" screen that pops up and hangs onscreen. It shows up as another application in the taskbar.
I cant get it off the screen by alt tabbing. In taskmanager under applications its named "hypersplash32"
It just hangs on this loading screen but can hear hyperspin running in the background.
I didnt have this issue untill I went and set mame key bindings.

Is it routine to have to map out an ipac4's keys when you first set a system up? I was under the impression that they were setup already with the default mame keys out of the box.

Mine didnt come with software... I will download it from ultimarc and check it out. I have the usb ipac4 so pretty sure its the new one.

Basically im using the default ipac4 keybindings. Then in mames tab menu.... I went through each 4 players and remapped the keys for each players up,down, left, right directions and buttons 1-7 for players 1-2, and buttons 1-4 for players 3-4.

After doing that the hypersplash screen started giving me problems. Coud it be some key binding conflict?
Is there any guides for mapping out 4 player keys? Anyway to reset mame keys to default?

The hard drive im using is one I setup hyperspin on a year or two ago. I spent weeks researching and remember paying to register to a site to download the artwork etc. I have a full mame set and a few other systems.
Everything was running great and setup right but have since forgotton everything as this was years ago.
One other thing I thought of is....
I think I might of compiled this hard drive using 32bit windows when I set it up.

Now Im running windows 7 64.
Would that cause issues?

Attatched is a pic of the loading screen thats plaguing me ..

Any help would be greatly appreciated. After months of work my cab is finally done but cant play because of this

I know for sure some 64bit emulators won't run on 32 bit systems.  Does MAME work outside of hyperspin?

Get the ipac software and remap your default keys.  I mapped P1 UP, Down, Left and Right, as well as Enter and Esc to the corresponding keyboard keys, but for everything else I just assigned a letter starting at "a".  I can't be bothered to shut off the stickykeys, or if CTRL works in NESTOPIA, etc.  Mapping 4p is simple after that.

As I mentioned in your build thread, that screen is your game launch "fade".  It can be shut off in hyperlaunch/rocketlauncher, you will have to google how to shut it off if you are using HyperHQ.

Im remapping keys in ipac config utility now.

I have a keyboard plugged into ps2 port on pc.... i noticed numlock was on... I wonder if that will cause issues.

I mapped my 4 admin keys in ipac to 9 0 [ and ]
How do I assign those now to be start, exit, fav, and ? In hyperspin

Or should I map them to some other keys to work at default?

What 4 admin keys are usually ran?

Again.... im soory at the noob questions.
The building part was easy.... its this ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- that drives me nuts

Settings for keymapping hyperspin are in hyperhq.

No, mapping hyperspin is really, really easy.  All you need for "admin" buttons are start (or enter) and escape.  Of course sideways on the joystick by default skips by letter.

I mapped the genre, favorites, and hyperspin buttons to my player 1 buttons.  I mean you don't "need" them to use hyperspin and it just clunks up your control panel to have a hyperspin button.  I guess you could use your existing admin buttons but I figured I was the only one who knew what the "hyperspin"  or genre button did so I might as well keep it concealed to the average user.  I think there is a button to skip ahead 50? games as well.
