Default marquee size?
« on: January 08, 2004, 07:02:52 pm »
Just wondering if there was some kind of commonly used marquee size(s) used for arcade marquees.  If there is/are, what are the dimensions?

I measured some I have.  All but the Heavy Barrel are NOS, and the Heavy Barrel doesn't appear to have been trimmed.  All dimensions are in inches.

Joust & Robotron - 7.5 x 24.375

Defender - 8 x 24.375

Sinistar - 7.5 x 22.875

Stargate - 7.25 x 24.375

Heavy Barrel - 7.625 x 23.5

You can see that even of the handful of marquees I measured, they vary a bit and there really isn't a "default" size, so to speak.

Im gonna geuss that this is for a brand new project. If thats the case and youre going to do your own artwork under plexi, then 24" is a good size since thats a pretty common size for plexi sheets

If you have a cabinet and youre looking to buy a marque, most of the time a size isnt listed, like on EBay. So you would need to search out the dimensions of the original cabinet

For the record, Tempest is 23.75" wide x 10-12" depending on how youve got it secured
