need help wiring switch
« on: October 26, 2015, 02:57:49 am »
Hello.

I bought this switch as part of an arcade parts kit at Aliexpress.
I wonder if someone could tell me exactly how to wire this;

I just ordered one of these for my cab too , plus some 10a 5x20mm fuses (hope the amperage /size is right?)

Do you know what size disconnect I need for it? I have .187 and .250 on hand and a couple bigger ones in garage so hope one of the sizes is right.

Anyway.... I got my smart surge strip and a 12ft 18awg pc power cord......

This is my first cab and not super savy on electrical diagrams.

So I cut off the plug of my smart strip and wire the......

White to B , then a white jumper from A to 1
Then black to D, and black jumper from C to 4
Then ground to 2

Right  :dunno

The amperage should be fine.

Can't confirm the needed physical size without looking at the sale listing.   :dunno

0.250" should be the right size.

You got it.

I found this switch outlet on amazon and several reviews say that the switch got hot and melted and could cause a fire  :o

Looks to be the same exact ones me and the OP got.
I wonder if they wired them wrong or if these are just dangerous?

They solved the issue by just wiring the outlet and bypassing the switch/fuse. You would still have protection from the surge strip right?
Any thoughts on this?

Added power wiring inspection procedures to the wiki entry.

My switch is slightly different then yours, it came with the fuse installed, 5 Amps / 250 Volts, if i read it right. (i am from the Netherlands)
Mine has only three connectors at the bottom.
I got it right using the wiki.
Try it with a light bulb first to be sure.
