Can someone tell me WTF is up with this site?

I am guessing that isn't the HYPERSPIN people hawking ROM drives configured with their front end?

They are definitely a scam per the Hyperspin Forums:
Quote
Lately people have been selling hard drives or services with HyperSpin on it. We advise against buying these as HyperSpin is free but only distributed through this site. Do not trust from another source. Also while we are always trying to streamline the experience transferring someones setup doesnt always work out too well. We have been inundated with complaints that people got ripped off by HyperSpin because these sites claim to be us or affiliated with us. Only trust HyperSpin from HyperSpin-Fe.com

Just do like I did. Buy a Platinum account, & sync your stuff with HyperSync Cloud. You'll also need a membership to emumovies as well. Buy that 2nd and you will get a 25% off discount. Look to spend about $100 total.

I wouldn't trust a site selling preconfigured Hyperspin drives.

I'm not much interested in Hyperspin ... I just was curious if the community knew about these guys.  I have two MAME cabs that I use MAMEWAH on...which still work great. (It's been about 6 years since I updated it though).

I bought one simply to update my old rom sets and lazily check out the newest hyperspin. EPIC FAIL! Those drives are very old versions of emulators and hyperspin.  Xpadder is too old to work with a 64 bit OS.  I was hoping to check out the PS2 emulator (the lazy way)  but the version of the emulator is so old that it literally warns you to check back in a bit when a beta version is released.  I'm not a programmer and didn't know there were alpha versions.  Now I do!  It does include the movie ice age with only Spanish audio, so if that's what you are really after, give it a shot.

PLEASE, no one post the link or offer info on how to find the site.  I'd like my warning to stick around.  Especially since I already outed myself for being a d-bag and giving one of these guys money.

Good call calling yourself a d-bag, sparing the rest of us the unpleasant task.

I wasn't sure who was going to say it, but you were my first guess.

How can you blame anyone for buying these pre-configured disks? A lot of people do not have enough time to effectively put together a current software collection and then risk the bit-torrent hell that is finding a current ROM sets for the emulators.

I bought one.  :banghead: Its a very old hyperspin setup (1.2?) and games are still launched with hyperHQ, so its very difficult to add or modify your collection.  Plus a lot of it is in Spanish.

I bought another 2TB hard drive and am configuring my own rocketlauncher and hyperspin from scratch.  The preconfigured drive is somewhat useful for difficult systems but really nothing that cant be found on youtube.

Save your money, learn how to configure hyperspin yourself.
