4p cab .... 2p coin door / wiring suggestions
« on: October 12, 2015, 06:14:23 pm »
Finishing my first cab.... will be wiring it up once my controls come in.

Anyway I "borrowed" a dual slot coin door from my vendetta cab.
The vendetta cab is 4p and in hindsight I should of just installed both doors giving me a mech for each player but think I may turn the vendetta cab into a 2p multi pcb cab so wanted to keep a door for it.

So......
I im debating on just wiring p1 & p2 to the door or if I should/could wire p1/3 to one mech and p2/4 to the other mech?
In 4 player games...would adding coins for p3 and p4 cause thise players to start ingame without pressing start on certain games?

What i mean is..... if only 2 of us are playing and insert coins will 4 players drop into the game?

Im going to have coin-up buttons on the cp but thinking about adding toggles inline with each players coin buttons so I could force the use of quarters.
Might be able to bribe the kids with quarters for being good/cleaning etc lol.

Anyway.......yeah, whats the best way to wire 4p cab to a 2 slot door?

If using MAME you could probably  set it up so that you need to hold down the player button and drop the coin to get a credit for that player (ie. hold down player 1 button and insert coin in first slot gets player 1 credit, hold player 2 button and drop coin in slot 2 gives player 2 credit, hold player 3 button and drop coin in slot 1 gives payer 3 credit, etc..)  :dunno

Or i wonder if dropping a quarter as normal for 1 and 2 and shift plus first slot could =p3, shift plus second slot=p4.

I've seen you change your mind on your buttons and order $20 coin reject buttons. What's stopping you from buying a new door?  >:D
