Any reviews on LED buttons?
« on: October 11, 2015, 08:06:37 am »
I was checking out the Eclipse buttons from GGG and I don't see any reviews or user pics. I'm curious if you guys have seen any pics or reviews of the Eclipse buttons. Maybe on someones project announcement.

Anyone have any thoughts on the LED buttons they've used and what they thought of them?

Someone will have to verify this, but I believe the Spectra Eclipse buttons are just SpectraLite buttons with black plungers.  I know there are some threads comparing the SpectaLites to similar buttons from Ultimarc and Paradise.

Here's a bartop using the Eclipse buttons:http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,130522.msg1505168.html#msg1505168

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

I used the Blue eclipse buttons on a bartop build I did for a friend. I would like to do the same build but with some red ones.

As for a review?

They were easy to install and wire up. Just used a separate connection from the Power Supply. I did have a few LED's burn out. RandyT from GGG was kind enough to send some spares and help with why it was happening. Turns out the Power Supply was having some voltage spikes. Ended up replacing the PSU with a better one and haven't had the issue since.

As far as the micro-switches and feel of the buttons.... I couldn't give you a in depth review on how they felt. I would press the button and it worked. Good enough for me.

I have seen some other build's here with custom rings like the above. They came out really good but if you dont have the time or know how I would recommend the Eclipse buttons.
