Pac Man Plug and Play Sale
« on: October 03, 2015, 12:02:57 pm »
Just an FYI for those that may be interested in a build using one of the newish Namco Bandai 12 Game Plug and Plays.

Was looking for another Pac man plug and play to build a bartop for one of my neices friends (she had seen the Galaga I built for my Neice and wanted one) -- Went to Kmart to see if they still had them but they were out so went home and looked on the net for one.

Came across some in stock at Target.com for $19.99 +shipping and tax ( $27.95 delivered) and was ready to order when I noticed a couple things on the ad :

1. Free shipping on order over $25 (Meant I could get 2 for $43.25 delivered or $21.63 each !!)

and

2. They currently had a sale that was buy 2 board games (these were included as part of the sale) and get 1
    free ( So for the same $43.25 I could get 3 !! )

Needless to say I spent the $43.25 and ordered 3 of them for a cost of only $14.41 a piece. And then figured I would go ahead and post an FYI here in case anyone else wanted to place an order while they last and the sale is still valid !

Got the package today and they've changed the layout on the PCB again -- but the good news is it was a change for the better - The joystick now has 4 little microswitches that are mounted to the PCB with through holes so will be easy to remove the switches and solder in new button wires rather than having to solder on to pads. So now just the wait for the other parts from CHINA (got a couple DB9 connectors with screw terminals) and some other misc. parts.

then will be starting a build (still haven't decided on a bartop like the last one or perhaps a cabaret with the Dell 2001FP monitor I have (since it has Composite input and USB ports for the +5V on this thing) so would be a good match.

Pic of the PCB (through holes in PCB and A B buttons outlined in yellow) :
