Taitorama Metal Control Panel - Help!
« on: September 24, 2015, 07:29:14 am »
Hello all!

I started to build my first arcade cabinet from scratch.  This one is going to be based off/clone of the Taitorama arcade found here: http://www.koenigs.dk/mame/eng/drawtaitorama.htm

I have the cabinet pieces cut out of MDF, software running and the artwork all printed off... but I hit a road block with the control panel.  I provided my local metal shop the .DWG file found on Koenigs' site.  Unfortunately they are stating that the scaling is off when they convert the file.  I looked at the file and can't make a lot of sense of it... CAD work isn't my specialty.

After further reviewing the plans on the site, it looks like there are two versions (1.00 and A2)... I didn't see a lot documented on the difference but the main difference is that there isn't much metal/area under the lowest two buttons.  The CAD is based on the A2 version.

The shop basically needs a DXF file that reflects the CP... version 1.00.  Since I already have the artwork printed, I would like it to match the button locations on the artwork that was posted (copied same design).  They preferred a 3D version of the CP, including all the bend angles and correct measurements.   This is all provided in the PDF documents but I am failing at creating it in AutoCad.

Has anyone made a Taitorama clone and ran into the same issues with the metal control panel?  I thought I would be able to shuffle off the CAD file to the metal shop, but it appears that it isn't formatted to how they need it (also heard the same from another metal shop).  Does anyone know how to draft up a CAD file?  If it takes more than a few minutes I would be willing to throw some coins! :-D

Thanks!
