Dual Boot
« on: September 06, 2015, 12:02:27 pm »
Hi,

I am new to this forum, although I was a silent reader for a long time. Now i am doing my first steps with Groovyarcade, which I want to use in my Naomi. I installed GA on an additional harddrive, but I would like to have a dual boot option. Is there an easy way to install a bootmanager?

thanks...

Is Naomi the Dreamcast arcade board?

GroovyArcade would have installed a bootloader already, so it would just need configuring for whatever original OS you need to launch.

Well, in other boards 'Naomi' is often used for the 'Naomi Universal cab', but that was often equppied with the Noami Arcade Board, which is similar to a Dreamcast. In my Case there is a Noami 1, so the answer is Yes ;)

Regarding the Bootloader - from my old days in Linux I now remember that the cahnges could be made by a textfile. Can someone point me to a documentation which works for GroovArcade?

Thanks a lot!

I'm not sure for certain, but you'd be able to tell pretty quickly, I think it uses syslinux:
