Best way to cut a plastic marquee bracket?
« on: September 03, 2015, 07:08:37 pm »
Got my plastic marquee brackets finally.  They are about a 1/4" too long.  What's best to trim this down?  I have a jigsaw now.  I could get a hacksaw.  I don't know what's going to be quickest and easiest without destroying it.

I'd get the hacksaw.  Jigsaw tends to leave a ragged cut that you'd need to sand down...  Or, if it's only 1/4", just sand it down to begin with.

I thought about just sanding it down.  I have an electric rotary sander, so I'll give that a shot.  Thanks!

I use either my table saw or my miter saw.

Those or a band saw does nicely.
My Projects:
MisSpent Youth a Vigolix bartop,  Little Bastard a rotating tablet/display bartop,
Pin-Dog a mini pin-cab on vpforums.org  Star Wars a wedgehead pincab on vpinball.com

The sander was too slow by itself so I did end up using the jigsaw.  It was not easy but it got the job done.  Then I used 80 paper on the sander to get the rest of the way.
