« on: September 03, 2015, 02:07:17 am »
Got my howler, got my u-trak along with the LED's.  Heres what were looking at

im left with 3 wires with no place to put them, the U-trak has 2 5v wires and a ground, can i chain these in with the LED 5v and ground, can i put them in to button13 slot since its unused?  what do yall think?

Hi Kiel,

Info regarding the Howler is pretty sparse around here. I could make a lot of assumptions but I think it would be best to contact Andy (U-Trak) and Josh (Howler) about these questions. Both seem quick to reply via email. One question about your drawing. Why do you have a ground coming from the LED? I would imagine that you have two red 5V wires and 2 ground wires from the U-trak but I could be wrong.

I haven't hooked up my Happ trackball to the Howler yet but when I do I will put both 5V lines into the 5V (not the 3.3) and I will use any of the grounds provided on the board.

Let me know how you make out with this.

here is the U-Trak LED system

it has a ground wire.

The U-trak trackball only has one ground wire.  despite the documentation on the website.

Heres what I did, i have some extra slots not being used on the howler, and im not using the high powered LED slot either. so i used the 5v from those to wire the U-trak, it works.  heres the diagram,  Blue and purple are your Y axis and Green and yellow are your X on the U-trak

Couldn't you have simply put both grounds in the same screw?  Ground is ground no?
