Coin Door Question
« on: August 12, 2015, 08:37:51 pm »
I am looking to buy a dual entry (maybe over/under) coin door (similar, if not http://na.suzohapp.com/amusement_products/coin_doors/40-0055-00). I live in Canada, so it is a bit challenging to find a place that sells them for a good price. I was originally going to buy one from Happ, but they made it that you have to pay a minimum of $200 per order now . Ebay is also not the greatest option as shipping charges are high.  Anyone who lives in Canada know a good place to buy coin doors?

In no particular order:

- Kijiji - the odd used door, refinishing is an easy task.
- eBay - you might get lucky and find one on our side of the border
- KLOV - used or new.
- here - same deal.

Honestly shipping on a small one like that isn't that bad. I just paid $10USD to a guy in KLOV for shipping on a new door similar to that. And the door only cost me $35USD.

GRANTED, buying a brand new 4 player door with the over under, brand new, from a vendor in the states (which shal remain nameless) cost me about $350 Canadian all said and done. Plus two months of a nightmare deal trying to get another lock for it from him when I wasn't sent the right keys....

Shipping is sorta something that comes with the territory for some things I'm afraid.  You might find your cheapest option is to buy a used door locally, strip it, then refinish it.

I'm debating whether or not to get the Xarcade one. I also don't want to run into customs fees, so it would probably be best to buy from someone privately.

Kijiji. Contact one of those ads that say they will buy arcade games in any condition. Those guys refurb and resell all the time, and should have extra parts that you can purchase.

That's where I got mine.

It's also nice that it's in CAD, no need to worry about the exchange rate

If I can find a cheap over/under I'll go for it, but I'm really just looking for the cheapest possible 2 entry door (that's in decent shape)
