Pre-Cut solution for bar top vertical arcade?
« on: August 10, 2015, 03:31:53 pm »
Hi everyone,

I've been looking all over for a pretty decent solution for my vertical arcade bar top. I found one that seems to fit the bill, but it ships from UK which isn't really a problem, but international shipping of something like this kinda makes me weary:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/PVC-BARTOP-ARCADE-MACHINE-1-PLAYER-VERTICAL-D-I-Y-FLATPACK-KIT-60-IN-1-JAMMA-/161786311676?hash=item25ab3733fc

(That said, the price is pretty good!)

Does anyone know of a US-based pre cut kit for a vertical bar top? I'm planning a JAMMA based cabinet. Any help is appreciated!

J

Ah-ha! Dude, VERY nice cabinet. So glad you're here! This is essentially exactly what I am looking for.

That said, I assume you've probably shipped plenty of these to the States. [Edit: Duh, you are in the states, hence the "that would be me". :) ] Have you had any problems with the distance? Things being chipped or cracked in transit, etc.

I'm actually totally in love with that Minitendo you have...that with some nice T-Molding would be stunning.

Also, any idea how much it might run to get one to California? I'm trying really hard to stay in my budget.

Thanks for any help!!

Very many to the states.  I wrap my pieces in pipe insulator foam, and make sure all the voids in the box are full to prevent shifting.  I've probably shipped a couple hundred, I've had 3 get damaged, and those were with very obvious damage to the box (dropped, or crushed, or both).

You can put a small LCD in the Minitendo vertically.

I'm in AZ, so shipping to CA shouldn't be bad.  Given your zip, I can give you a good idea of cost.

Excellent. I am in 95060, so not too far from AZ at all.

Is there a way to "easily" angle the board that the LCD mounts to? I'm going for that retro look as much as possible.

Thanks again!

Yes.  The kit is designed so you can angle the monitor any way you wish.  You bolt your monitor to the included monitor mount board, choose your angle / position, and then use the included angle brackets to mount the monitor to the sides of the cabinet.
