  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Hello. I am new to the forum so I apologize if this is miscategorized or improperly formatted.

I recently purchased a working Area 51 Site 4... it was fully restored and in great shape. The next day, my wife played Carnival Kings at an arcade and wanted to buy that cabinet as well but we don't have the space for both of them. I found a carnival king board & drive for sale and the Jamma 2-1 harness that powers both boards and allows you to switch between two games in one cabinet but I am stuck on how to wire the guns. I haven't actually purchased anything yet because I am not sure how to get it to work.

My questions are:
- There are several wires that connect directly into the PCB for Area 51 and do not go through the Jamma harness. Is it possible to split them or are there adapters available to split the wires for two games?  I assume that they are the guns & monitor

- Has anyone ever done this before?

- Would you recommend doing this or is it out of my league?   The only project that I have ever build from scratch was a 60-1 Jamma cabinet but besides the woodworking, it was pretty much just a kit and a separate monitor.

Thank you
- John
