Golden Tee 2015 hardware build
« on: August 03, 2015, 08:43:08 pm »
Hey,

I have found some info on building the old cabinet style for Golden Tee. I would like to build something like the current Golden Tee 2015 setup, with an LCD TV and some simple hardware. From the boot screen, I gather that this runs on Linux, but everything I've found in internet searches is a game for windows. I would like to build a computer that can run Golden Tee 2015 and hook up the ball to a simple stand. Any advice or resources is appreciated. If I get through this project, I will post and share a DIY for anyone interested.

You have to buy a Golden Tee 2015.  That's the only way to run the game.

there is a golden tee golf game on PC but it is old as dirt (90's goodness). you'd probably be unhappy with it.

for a better Golden tee experience it's best to buy yourself a "for real" golden tee cabinet...see how the cabinet is built and then build your own based on it. (for instance the cabinet control panel has a particular angle to it allow better trackball action.)

I've even cut down a golden tee cabinet and turned it into a pedestal cabinet.

I've looked into this too.  You can't just install the software, you have to buy the PC hardware from I.T.
