Just throwing this out there more for general information than a request for specific help...
New to the boards, new to the project in general, I'm attempting a build of jkdubb's AWESOME 16:9 cocktail project (
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,118776.0/all.html) and I'm hitting some snags with some new stuff. Now, first off the bat, both Andy and Arzoo have been GREAT in dealing with these few problems, but I wanted to make the general populous aware of what I've been experiencing.
First off, ordered a bunch of Classic RGB LED buttons and two u360's and an UltiPac from Andy at Ultimarc. Also, after reading up what others have said, ordered up the front restrictor kit. Went to install it only to find that the shaft of the (apparently) new batches of u360's have a smaller diameter than the long shaft included in the restrictor kit. OEM shaft was 8.95mm, while the long shaft is 9.1mm - so none of the existing hardware would transfer over to the long shafts (without having to widen certain parts, not something I was anxious to do). Andy was quick in responding that I wasn't
the first, but certainly one of the first few that had reported this. He said he was checking with the suppliers to see if anything changed in their specs and such, and very quickly offered to either send out replacement sticks (when available) or refund me the restrictor kits. Top notch service, all the way. But, again, wanted to let the community know before anyone finds themselves in the same boat.
Secondly, it appears that the u360s have gone through some hardware revs lately, which is throwing off some additional companion utilities. For example, my u360 is showing a hardware ID of HID\VID_D209&PID_0511&REV_0032 - showing different firmware than the firmware upgrade page on Ultimarc.com and different enough from other's sticks that apparently it is causing LEDBlinky to not recognize the sticks, no matter WHAT I do. So, no u360s detected, no u360s automapping via LEDBlinky.
Again, this isn't a "I'm not getting support so I'm taking my problems public" kind of thread. On the contrary, both Arzoo and Andy have been very forthcoming and honest with the problems and I fully expect them to have everything resolved shortly. But seeing as I've wasted literally HOURS on getting the various bits and pieces up and working together, this is more of a "current state of the market as of 7/29/2015" kind of thread. Almost 95% of the research I have been doing have been either on threads from 2009 or earlier, or recent threads pointing BACK to the 2009 threads as cited cases. So, things are in a bit of a state of flux if you are ordering anything ASAP...
