I have a little project I plan on doing.
What I intend to do is build my own controller for the Project DIVA games on PS3. What I intended to do was gut my spare DualShock 3, take out the PCB and directly wire my buttons to the PCB and keep the analog sticks, then just stuff the PCB inside whatever case I end up using for this project (probably a custom case by foehammer) I've never done this before, so I have a couple of questions:
1) I talked to someone, and they said soldering button wires directly to the PCB for the face buttons (up, down, left, right, square, triangle, O, X) would be fine; however they weren't sure about the shoulder buttons. When I asked what was different about the shoulder buttons, they said they weren't sure if the shoulders were active high or active low, and that I may need to invert them to make them work. So, are the DualShock 3's shoulder buttons active high or active low?
2) Active high or active low; which one would require me to invert them?
3) Exactly HOW would I invert them if I need to?
4) Would the analog sticks on the DS3 PCB still function? (The sticks are necessary for Project DIVA games ever since they incorporated those "Star" notes)
Those were the ones I remembered off the top of my head. If I have anymore, I'll ask.
Thanks in advance for the assistance!
