sanwa / seimitsu joystick LED options?
« on: July 15, 2015, 05:48:30 am »
Im in the initial phases of building my first 4 player cab....

I spent a couple days reading about joystics and buttons and am still pretty confused.

I will probably be playing mostly fighters and read good things about the sanwa jlf sticks. I think I want to go with these balltops.
Ive read the Sanwa JLF is great for fighters but wouldnt be against seimitsu sticks either.

My question is... Do they make either of these sticks with the LED option? Ive seen mods or hollow shafts that can be used to add LED's but wondering if they are available with LED balltop ready to go?

Im still debating between sanwa and seimitsu buttons but leaning torwords seimitsu since I think they would be a nice middleground between stiff happ and sensitive sanwas. I also want to go LED with these.

Ive seen these LED bubble balltop sticks at paradise but have no clue who makes them and if they are any good.

Where is the best place to find what im looking for? Do they offer "kits" to save money? Can I find what im looking for with LED's installed or do I have to order an optional LED kit with driver?

Sorry for the noob queations.... im learning and its a bit overwhelming right now. Any other options or suggestions?
Thanks!

I know "which joystick" is subjective and based on preference, so let me rephrase the question.

I will be getting sanwa or seimitsu sticks.... what are my options for lighting them with LED's?

Anyone know of ones wired with leds and ready to go? If not...what would I need to do this?

Been searching and looking at vendors but it seems like descriptions are vague and one needs to be an expert.

Thanks for the headsup!
I heard they was being offered but couldnt find them on my phone, It wouldnt let me pick categories on paradise website.
I jumped on my pc and found them. Pricey! I would have $200 just in the 4 sticks so going to have to go another route :(

Paradise has the LED sticks labled as there own brand but dont know who makes them or if they are any good.
Anyone tried them?

I have the Paradise RGB LED joysticks. I don't have an in depth knowledge of the higher end joysticks so I cannot accurately rate these among other sticks. I think that when working with these sticks you have to realize that they are a very inexpensive joystick ($10) with LED upgrades added to bring them to $30. The return is soft but they do what they are supposed to do. They don't feel real sturdy but that's likely because they didn't cost $50 or upwards. These aren't real good joysticks but they do light up and they are cheap compared to other RGB LEDs. I would like to throw in that Paradise Arcade was excellent to deal with.

You are welcome. I should add that Paradise was fantastic and this shouldn't weigh negatively against them at all. I would work with them again in a heartbeat. This joystick is simply another case of you get what you pay for.

I have a while to go on my cab before i need the sticks/buttons. Not sure what route I will go.
I grew up with the stiff happ sticks but never liked them. Im not a die hard gamer so any stick would work.... but I sure am curious now about the sanwa and seimitsu sticks. Maybe ill go with the lighted jlf's for p1 p2 and cheapies for 3/4.
Heck i might go cheap for all 4 .... just dont know yet.

Do the led paradise sticks feel stiff like happ sticks or are they more sensitive?

Those zippy sticks are based of seimitsu 32 sticks..... If the paradise led sticks were built on the zippy sticks then I would definately go that route but I dont know who made the sticks used for the paradise led stick

I have had some really old Happ competition clones in the past so I will base this off of them. These sticks are easier to move (less stiff) than the Happ Clones. I guess that could translate to more sensitive. The length of shaft is good on a thicker panel. The throw is decent. Not too short. I would compare the throw to the Happ Clones I had.

That sounds like a good idea. Or JLF for P1/P2 as they will be the most often used. If you go that route dig this thread up and let me know how they compare.
