USB Mame Encoder 2 Players :)
« on: July 09, 2015, 08:16:42 pm »
Hi everyone :)

So I'm looking to purchase 2 player usb encoder for my Mame system I'm looking to build this summer.

If you have one send me a pm. I have dealt with ipac2s before so I'm familiar with them. But wouldn't mind switching over to something else. If you have one of these please let me know

Thanks for looking

Let me ask you thi.s, why do you want to switch from the I-Pac 2? , quite frankly, I wouldn't use anything else if I were building a two player cabinet.

My local supplier doesn't carry them anymore so I'm out of luck. I use to get a discount by purchasing in bulk but no longer have that luxury... So now I'm looking for secondary options unfortunately :(

So is it less wanting to try a new device, and more about wanting to save money? Because honestly, I think for two players, the IPac2 is the most efficient way to go, based on the fact you don't have to run any other software to make your joystick movements look like keyboard strokes. Just my $0.02.

I would say its a balance between both :). Don't get me wrong the ipac is one dandy chipset but the fact that sometimes that thing poops on you when you install and can't config keys sucks. I have worked around with Mame for a bit and recently tried a breadboard schematic that also worked out but couldn't find a manufactor that would only make 10-15. I'm just looking at options right now.

Ideally yes ipac is my bread and butter been using them for 3 years now so that's what I would lean towards!!
