Bartop control extra gamepads

As a bit of a newb  i have a few questions.. Hope you guys can answer them

You build a mame bartop  6buttons 2player and want to play a console game you have on the whatever emu system is it with that systems original controller..

would you need to build the machine with a kade encoder to do this..or

If built using an ipac2 could you use these new classic retro sega nes snes  usb controllers on the computers motherboard usb with out messing up the settings for the ipac control..

So would i need to reset the controls every time i plug in a different usb controller assuming i would have a controller for all systems..

I plan on doing a bartop type machine with a hyperspin front end with mame and a few console emulators..

I am sure i will have a few more question by the time i am finished with this build..

Totally depends on how you have your system set up.  Your cab controls would be wired up to your encoder - sounds like you understand how that works.  The absolute most idiot-proof way of doing what you want is with a Kade mini-console plugged into your usb on the mobo and with the DB port broken out to the cab exterior.  Then you could use original controllers plugged in via adapter cord and the Kade would do all the magic.

The flip side would be getting USB versions of each controller you want and then config each emulator to use each controller.  You might need to re-config each time though, like you mentioned, cause USB is retarded that way.  I know there is an app out there that fixes this issue but I can never remember the name of it.

If you are not absolutely set on using the console's original controller, then I'd use an iPac and Xpadder combined with the NES30 pro controller. Found here: http://8bitdo.com/nes30pro/

That controller will work with any console and its wireless.

I have the regular NES30 controller and it's legit.

Cheers slippyblade

Thats what i thought but need someone to confirm i for me..

But as the kade console is not out yet i might give that a miss just for now and maybe just use a ipac2..As it has all the inputs i would need..

I had a great idea for the artwork as well but will save that for a future project with the kade console..

Only because most of the games i like are on mame any way..and i have most of the hardware anyway ..pc.buttons..ipac

It's only the real classic games that i would want to use the authentic controllers on and everybodys idea of a classic is subject to individual taste..

But it would be nice to play some sega megadrive (genesis) california games with the original controller or sonic the hedgehog but i can do that another time.. Rather than digging up in the loft or looking in the back of the wardrobe for a megadrive..

vwalbridge  that  NES30 pro controller looks like 1 sexy controller...
