« on: January 01, 2004, 11:21:07 pm »
Looking for the best price. I already bought one retail for my horizontal arcade machine. I dont want to pay over $100 for my vertical but will consider offers of less.
Let me know your price.

hardly ever see them sold here.  People who buy them covet them.

But you might consider going with a trident hack for a vertical cab.  No hwstretching of any nature but should be fine for a classic cab.

I know. I'll fill you in real fast. I already bought one for my horizontal cab. Excellent card. Mortal kombat and everything is A++ but for vertical cab I didnt want to pay $101 for another one for pacman and galaga etc. But last night I took the arcadevga out of my horizontal and put it in my vertical. It made a huge difference. Everything was exactly full screen and games like toobin ran! Also pacmania was full screen. I went to ultimarc and am sitting at their order page right now thinking what I can sell on ebay to get another 100$!!

So just ignore this post. I'll buy another new one. Anyone else own two of these?!

I think I just talked anyone that was thinking of selling one to change their minds...whooops :) Oh well. Its worth it to buy another. Just showed my wife the difference and explained why this card just was so much better technical wise and I think shes game!

What monitor are you using?  I'm considering the WG 9200 with the card.  I'm not sure though.  How do the vert games look on your monitor?  Must not be too good if you want to build another cab just for the vert games... Your input is appreciated!

I dont understand what you are asking..but I'll try my best to answer. Im using a 25" wells gardner on my horizontal cab and a 19 inch wells gardner on the vertical. Vertical games look fine on the 25" but are only about 13" tall and black borders (yes even with smoked plexi). On the 19" rotated vertically they are 15" tall and fill the screen. I dont know what you mean buy " must not be good to build another cab"?! Not good enough for me since I like the veritcal games to be like they are supposed to. If you like them small with boarders use your horizontal monitor. If you want them accurate turn the monitor the way is supposed to be. I say You have not played galaga till you played it on a real vertical monitor. I just wanted the other arcadevga card to simplify the setup.

I have one now in both cabs and it is amazing. You can settle for vertical games on a horizontal monitor but Im sure any die hard pacman digdug and galaga fans will tell you a vertical cab is the way to go. Need to have one of each. The rotating monitor was not for me. I like simple and straight forward for the player. If someone cant go down to the basement and load up games, without me being there to tell them how, then its too complicated. :)

Adjusted properly, vertical games on a 25" horizontally mounted monitor should be 15" tall.  A 19" monitor is 15.2" wide, so they should be approximately the same size.  I agree though, it still doesn't look right.  Too bad I don't have the scratch to build a horizontal cab right now...and I even have a 25" monitor waiting for it.

Thanks for the answers.  I guess I just have to see it.  I'm getting the 27' like I said, so vertically they games should be the right on with the size.  As for my comment, I thought you were building a new vert cab, didn't realize that you already had it ready to go.  Sorry to hijack your thread, good luck in finding a card on the cheap!
