Got my skill crane today! Need help fixing it
« on: June 13, 2015, 03:55:58 pm »
I decided to pick up a broken greyhound skill crane today and it seemed like it would be an easy fix. But after hours of trouble shooting I can't figure out what's wrong with it. When I turn it on the claw closes and the assembly moves all the way to the left. Also the display only shows the number 3. Any idea as to what's going on?

First off its very common for the sensors to be an issue.
Chances are with an old crane, that you have multiple faults.

A worn  travel carriage harness is typical and will give issues.

Have you gotten a manual

which greyhound is it? red cab?  got any pictures?

i had one. When i got it, all i had was the trolley/claw assembly and a power supply. had to track down the parts and fix said parts, got it up and running. Always meant to restore it to 100% original, but tough times happened, and i had to move and couldnt take it with me. took all the parts, and left the cab (it was beat up anyway).

Anyway, if its the oooollllddd one, i may be able to lead you in the right direction.
