Anyone here from Las Vegas?
« on: June 03, 2015, 08:28:12 pm »
I'm about to start a new build, and I'm thinking I'm going to go PC with it. My previous experience was with a Raspberry Pi for my bartop, and it was really easy setting up the frontend. The Pi is totally fine for that, but I'd like to get more power with a PC for a full-size cab, two play and a trackball.

Now, I'm good with the build. I can wire and woodwork just fine. I just am crap at the software part. I was wondering if there are other folks out there from Las Vegas who would be willing to help me out with the software portion. Setting up a PC with a frontend and games. I can pay in beer.  Just PM me.

Thanks!

Matt

I dont live in the area but I would definitely love to help out. Not sure if you're wanting to learn or just expecting a silver platter.

What kind of ideas did you have as far as front end?

Or I should take a step back and ask do you already have a PC with an operating system installed?

Thanks for getting back. I do not have a PC yet. I wanted to get some advice. I haven't picked out a front end yet, either.

I have pretty much all the arcade parts, though. That part, I'm totally good with. All the wiring, and such.

And I'm not looking for a silver platter. I'd be happy to have a teacher.

BTW, someone emailed me to make sure I'm not looking for ROMs. I'm not.

I just need help with installing a front end and getting it all to load up when it's turned on.

All the physical building, I can do. I'm just not good with the computer aspect.

I'm in Vegas, but sadly my skills match yours. I would not be much help on the computer side. I am just about to start a lengthy MAME cab build. I would love to see what you are working on.
Good Luck
Mike
