Probelm with WinIPAC and Windows 7
« on: May 29, 2015, 09:25:54 am »
Hi There,

We use the I-PAC as the interface between a coinmech and a PC.  The system was originally installed a decade ago , but ha been updated since then.  It's worked flawlessly every day since it's commissioning.

We're in the process of upgrading from the original PC, which was running XP and WinIPAC 1.3.7, to a new one, which is running Windows 7 and WinIPC 2.0.8.  In both cases the original I-PAC connects via USB, with WinIPAC set to USB and 28-input boards.

The IPAC works with the old XP system but cannot get it to work with the Win 7 system.

WinIPAC is set to run as administrator.  The programme runs ok, allows me to assign the keys, and says that the device has been successfully programmed.  However it does not respond when the coins are dropped in.  Nothing happens, not even an error...

If the I-PAC is connected to the old XP system the WinIPAC software highlights the key in blue as the coins drop in, and the keystroke shows up in Wordpad.  This doesn't happen when connected to the Win 7 system.

Have checked and rechecked everything and am at my wits end :(

Please Help!
