Rowe Ami R80 Info
« on: May 18, 2015, 02:48:53 am »
Hi guys new to forum, Hello everyone thanks for letting me join. Been in the amusement business in Queensland Australia since mid 70"s, I've been given a R80 jukebox to repair and the junction box tranny has given up the ghost, and has been a long time since I've worked on one, can someone tell me what is the secondary voltage output for the solenoids. Any help would be appreciated. Dave

Hi Dave,

Welcome to the forum.

I can supply you with a complete power supply/junction box (110 volt or 220 volt) or if you prefer just a transformer of either voltage.

Regards
Alan

Thanks Alan, I should have typed in a G80 box not R80, the tranny is 240v and the customer doesn't care whether its genuine so I could maybe put the new tranny under the old tin cover of the original, just need to know the voltage 36v seems to ring a bell. What sort of cost plus freight Thanks Dave

Hi Dave,

The G80 makes it somewhat different.
The junction box on the G80 just provides 117 volts for the amplifier, lights etc and it has a DC supply that is provided by a selenium rectifier the maximum open circuit voltage is 32 volts, these rectifiers in practice supply between 25 1/2 - 29 volts DC. Both DC circuits are protected by 8/10 amp (800ma) slow blow fuses and the supply voltage at 8 amp.

It might be worth having a word with Erwin Boot in Tasmania to see if he has an older  power supply lying about all of the junction boxes from the MM-1 through to R-80 will have a DC supply of 30 volts that you could use.

Regards
Alan
