No Input Analog reading on iCade 60 in 1 monitor
« on: May 10, 2015, 09:20:03 pm »
Apologies if this has been covered. Couldn't find it anywhere though. Have a 60 in 1 Jamma iCade machine with a computer monitor. A while back it stopped working and I bought a new board thinking the power supply (from a PC) fried it. I put the new board in with a new PC power supply and still get nothing. When I plug it in the monitor reads "No Input" and says "Analog" underneath. I've tried a new monitor and get the same thing. Any ideas on what is happening? Am I just missing something that needs to be connected?

If you have a VGA monitor hooked up, then you need to change one of the DIP switches, since the CGA output is default.

change inputs on the monitor? Try another VGA cable?

Haven't tried a new cable... good idea. Will give that a shot later.

I saw your post a few days ago and though of it today when I had a 60 in 1 board get delivered to me. First thing I did was test it in an existing cabinet with a 60 in 1 already in it.  No video... but the music started up after a minute or so.

I know you checked .. but my issue was the jumpers... (jumper 2 wasn't on).  Once I set jumper 2 to on, and the rest off, it worked.

So did you have any music but no video?  or did  you have it programmed not to have any music when not playing any games?   Do the lights all show it booting and then move to a running state?

Jumper switch was bad on mine.  I had to add an actual jumper wire.

Doesn't surprise me as my first new 60 in 1 had a short between two pins on a resistor pack that I had to fix.

I have a donor board if you want to give that one a shot.  The audio amp is fried, but the video works fine.  Probably easily fixed by replacing the amp chip.  PM me and I'll mail it out to you.  At least it will help you troubleshoot the video.

Tried the new cable - same thing. Wondering if I just fried the board. The old board stopped working so I replaced it with this one and hooked it up to the old power supply. Worked for a couple days then starting getting the No Input message and just the red light. Hooked up with new power supply and the lights on the board all seem to be lighting properly bust just can't get video. No sound either... Think that's what happened?

Well, got ta borrowed board on Saturday - Hooked it up and everything started up perfectly. Played through the games for a while and all was good. At one point I unplugged it and left it. Came back, put the board and everything back in the cab and plugged it all back in and it would only come up in test mode and I couldn't get out of it. Unplugged and restarted a couple times and got the same thing. Then it went to the No Input signal again on the monitor. I had the power supply (from a PC) hooked up through an extension cord without a surge protector and just powered it on by plugging in. Wondering if while doing this I just had a power surge that fried the board? Could be what happened to the last board too? About out of ideas here. Any thoughts?

wahumpe, sorry to hear it's not working. Sounds to me like a power supply issue. Have you tried swapping it out with a new one?  I use this one to power my PCB:  http://m.ebay.com/itm/311345740147

$9.99 and free shipping.

This was a different power supply I pulled from an old PC. Should still be good, but I'm guessing that's it. I'm gonna go with the link you sent me and try that- thanks!
