WTB: cabinet in the Denver, CO area.
« on: December 27, 2003, 02:12:09 am »
I am looking to get my hands on a standup arcade cabinet to convert to MAME and I am in the Denver area.  I would prefer it to be without monitor and working insides to keep things cheaper, but would consider buying a working machine too, depending on the machine and price wanted.  Thanks!

Good luck my friend. I live the springs and this state is crap for cab hunting. But if i recall their is a dealer in that area that was selling older marvel series fighters for about $400-$500 they are called rocky mountain entertainment or somthing like that. Look in your yellow pages and maybe they still have some. Again, good luck.

Funny... I just moved up north from the springs a few months ago.  :)  Yea I have had no good luck so far with finding a cab, haven't been able to check out the local dealers though...  something I should do I suppose.  But if anyone looking to get rid of a cab in the area sees this, still let me know.  :)

Please let me know if my bumping of this thread is inappropriate for the forum and I'll quit...  Still looking to pick up a cab so I'm bumping it to the first page.  Thanks.

SNK Guy,

I'm in Pueblo...here's a couple ideas that I looked at before deciding to just build my own from scratch:

Our little arcade here in the Pueblo Mall is trying to sell their machines.  They have an MKII cabinet that they are selling for $300.  I talked to the manager and he said "everything is negotiable".  Not bad, considering the machine works fine and looks pretty good.  Shame to gut it, though...

I also looked at an arcade in Manitou Springs.  They've got TONS of old machines sitting around.  And quite a few of them don't work.  (However, if you just moved north, you probably already know this.)

I don't know the numbers, but they're probably in the book.

Good luck!   :-*

Funny thing is I used to live ~10 minutes away from the manitiou arcade...   ;D  Don't know how I didn't think of that, though it would be a bit of a chore to get it up North.  Damn I wish I had a truck some times.

$300 is not bad at all for a MK2 machine also... something I should keep in mind.  I would gut it like a fish!  ;)  Also makes me think, I should just go to one of the local arcades up north here and ask the manager what they are looking to sell and what they want for it.

Always cool to hear from other people here in Colorado, thanks!  ;D

Hope you can find a machine!

Let me know if you ever find anything good...I'm always on the hunt for deals!   ;)

BTW, time to head to the mountains!  5 new inches here in Pueblo, can't imagine what's up in the high country!  Snowmobiling, here I come!!   ;D

Yea, have lived in Colorado my whole life and love it...  the only place I can think of that *might* be more beautiful would be Northern California.  Like it alot up there.  I'll let you know if I find any sweet deals that I have to pass up so you can get a chance at them.  :)

This guy is selling a bunch of machines right now. Doesnt appear to be many steals but there are a few reasonably priced cabs.

Nice... :)  That R-Type machine would be pretty nice for the opening price!  I'll have to watch that auction and drop that guy an email as he is only about 20-30 minutes away from me.  Not sure why eBay didn't notify me about these auctions though since I have it set up to tell me when one is posted for the denver area and didn't get one on this.  Thanks a ton!
