WTB old or empty cabinet in TX
« on: December 27, 2003, 12:10:59 am »
Hi... Im searching for an empty cabinet for my little project.  ;) If anyone in central Texas (San Antonio/Austin area) is looking to sell one, please send me an email or post a reply.

It would be a definite plus if you could deliver it, and I would be willing to pay a pretty nice fee to anyone who would be able to get it to my house. Thanks for looking at this guys.

I seem to remember that Austin was a good place to find arcade cabinets.  Not that that helps any.  Have you tried the local arcades?

I know of 2 places in Austin that you might try... One on Burnet Rd. called s&b amusements they really dont do
parts that much but you could try ... another is a place off of Slaughter Ln. in south austin... they are by appt. only
so you gotta call and set up a time... I cant seem to find the name of the second place but ill look and post it...

Thanks for the replies so far... Ive heard Austin can be hard for arcade hunters (lots of nerds with deep pockets supposedly). In any event, I still have the problem of shipping... I drive a Neon, so hauling a machine is out of the question. I was considering hiring movers if I found a machine locally, or getting someone to deliver the machine... perhaps even renting a massive truck/van.

*sighs* So far only the local bowling alley had a machine for sale, and it was a massive 4 player Simpsons that I couldnt possibly fit through my door. Besides, Id hate to tear apart a great working game. Local arcade people seem to be clueless as to whether or not I can purchase a cab. Aparently the owners are never around, and have yet to return my calls... heres hoping and waiting.  :-\
