best single color illuminated pushbuttons
« on: April 14, 2015, 02:51:02 pm »
I've seen some various reviews about different pushbuttons optimally dispursing light so they look quality.  Looking for any recommendations for illuminated pushbuttons so there is not a circle of white light in the center of the button.

Thanks!

Check out the Spectra Eclipse push buttons. Just used blue ones on a recent build and they look great.

If you really wanna do it right, go RGB and spend a little money: i'd say contact Randy at Groovy Game Gear and have them sell you a set of clear CLASSX buttons with leaf switches. He doesn't have them listed on his site. And you'll need to also purchase a black set and swap plungers (or any other colour you chose for that matter) because he won't sell parts (for good reason).

For LED's i'd say use the Paradise Arcade "IL-LUMINATION RGB 5VDC LED".

Plug those into your choice of LED board, (Like an Ultimarc I-PAC Ultimate I/O).  And do yourself a favour and use extra button lock rings on each button so the light doest lead from one button to another.

It may be incredibly subjective but this way you get the best feel, the best light, and the best control.

just my 2 cents.

I just ordered enough of the RGB LED's referred for my cabinet and have heard great things about them.  I wasn't sure about the extra button lock rings though but think I have some.  Once I get it setup I'll try to take pictures but that may be a month or two away.

I have a novel idea, why don't this forum just disbands!? After all we can all just use Google!
Instead of being "funny" why not just link it directly to what you have in mind, just so he can avoid wrong or outdated information.
Wouldn't that be more helpful!?

Search function on the forum works fantastic. Do your homework, then ask questions.

I truly, honestly do not understand this kind of approach. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I come to the forums for the very personalized and QUICK response to the problem at hand. There is no bits or bytes wasted DEFINITELY no paper is wasted (maybe we are trying to save elements that go into creating hard drives or servers?), just some personal time of someone who is willing to answer a question. So what is exactly the problem here?
If you don't feel like answering move over for the next person that is willing to answer. You are clearly burned out on answering over and over why even bother typing at all?
Search function as helpful as it is, at this point is simply overwhelming with an avalanche of possible approaches, responses, solutions (often outdated). There is plenty of people that already have a definitive answer and current one at that. Why waste time sifting through all that? Is there a need for some kind of arcade initiation?
I don't know I've been known to be wrong...

Asked for product recommendation.
I gave a product recommendation.
Was too lazy to google the product and click on the first link.
Makes me feel like I shouldn't have even bothered. :dunno
