I wanted the form factor of a bartop but stability and height of a standard upright cab.  I like the way bartops look but just didn't want to have to stick it on a random table.
I had a bunch of maple ply around to use and an old gtx560 card so I went to work.   I referenced bartop pics in general but the design is my own.  The front opens up with the large thumbscrews and I have two OMNI2 4 way/8way sticks that are easily accesible.  I liked these sticks because they are straightforward and built well. I didn't want to get into servo's or anything that could break.  Everything I am using was purchased from groovygamegear.
Using the lowest refresh rate LCD screen I could find.  22"(which in my opinion is the absolute minimum for a two player cab)  I am using a 3/16 piece of tempered glass for the screen protection.
The marquee is backlit with adafruit neopixels and fully changes color every 50 seconds.  I went with that because I wanted the entire unit to have a glow to it.  It is hooked up to an arduino and I can program it to do some pretty cool lighting affects as each individual pixel is controllable(as opposed to just a generic line of RGB leds).
Using a smartstrip to control on/off all wired to a single backlit blue button on the side.   The other backlit button(orange) on the side controls the marquee lighting as well as a few blue LEDs I have that are on the bottom of the cab.
Speakers are on the top(forgot to take pic) and intake and exhaust fans on back.  I'm using hyperspin with this setup.  I am happy with how it turned out.
