  • Never grow up.
Edit: First off thanks to every one so far for all your help.
I thought I was mostly finished before I was given the below list this afternoon. It appears mostly as it was when I received it, but its not 100% clear to me what they want. I added some ideas inside parentheses with a question mark to notate them as my idea, and not necessarily the best possible option. Anything in a bracket is a description that came with the list. If any one has any ideas that they would like to share, then pleas copy and paste the line your referring to in your reply. I'll cross off any items on the list that I finalize as I go.

Act one:
Swirling sound (Q*bert Falling?)
Jumping sound [Rabbit] (Mario jumping or SMB jumping?)
1 up sound [Grabbing key]: Link gets a new tool sound?
Rejected noise [Key does not work] SMB bump sound
Gulping noise [Eat me] Ms. pacman eatfruit
  • Shrinking noise Q*burt falling
Gulping noise [Drink me] Ms. pacman eatfruit
  • Shrinking noise (I think one of these is supposed to be a growing noise) SMB power up

Act one Scene 2
Bam Bam BAAA [Royalty →Queen in front of Alice]
DAMP DAMP DAMP [Marching noise]

Act one scene 3
BLAAH ↪BING! [coin noise] [for flowers coming to life] SMB coin sound.
wa wa wa wa [caterpillar enters, almost like pac-man WAKA WAKA]
Gulping noise [eats mushroom] Ms. pacman eatfruit
Growing noise [Mario]
PLINK PLINK [bird pecking on alice]
Falling noise LTTP_Link_Fall
Attack noise [death scene→Prelude {cue} for music]

Act 1 scene 6
Pac-man intro Found
Pac-man WAKA WAKA WAKA Found
Bomb dropping noise ↴ [Argry bird throw]

Act 1 scene 7
Trumpet sound SMB end of level.
Coin sound SMB

Act 1 scene 8
Trumpet sound + level completed [Alice is queen] SMB level complete
Trumpet sound I think this one is the same as above.
Ominous sound [cue for death scene] Kafka's laugh
Death sound

Original first post below:

The middle school play at the school I work at is in a bit of a crises. Long story short, they are doing a play called "WonderLand" it is a take on the Allis in wonderland but in a (mostly 8bit) video game world.

Yesterday, I was asked to step in and help out by finding a way to do the sound effects. I found http://soundplant.org and love it. The Author list the I-pac as a good tool to use with sound plant and he recommends MAME to build up your rapid key board skills. I wonder if he's a member here.

As of now I have all the original S.M.B. and all the original Legend of Zelda sound effects. I am looking for good resources that bundle game like sound effects so I don't have to download each sound one by one.

Right now I am looking for the the below. NES'ish sound would fit best but at this point any thing game like will do.
Quote
We will also need some rough snoring sounds ( something that might be misinterpreted as roaring), and some pig sounds.
[/s] Done.

Any help appreciated as the play starts next Thursday the 26th evening my time, and I'm 7 HR ahead from the east coast USA.

do a google search for "super mario soundboard" or "legend of zelda soundboard" maybe even "8-bit video game soundboard"

i believe you will find most of the work has been done for you already and can simply be played at the press of  button. this may work out good for you. check it out.

Sorry, I see how I was a little unclear. I'm in Tanzania and the internet is unreliable, so off line solutions are ideal. I have gotten the S.M.B. sound but had to download them one by one. For the legend of Zelda I found a sit that I could download a zip file with all the wav sound files in a single download. To save time, I was hoping to find a site that does single downloads for the all the sound at once for mutable games.

At this point I have every thing I need, but I still want to make it better. My rough snoring sounds  and pig sound don't fit with the 8bit therm.

most soundboards are done in flash and can be copied and put onto your computer for offline use.

www.vgmusic.com is a good site for midi game music tracks, but i'm not entirely sure where you could download whole packs of sounds for a whole game.

Thanks Man,

That look useful.

Does any one have any idea where to get NES pig sounds or a rough snoring sounds ( something that might be misinterpreted as roaring)?

And that way I love BYOAC.

Lilshawn you are indeed the man. This will make my life so much easier.

Now I might be able to get back to work on my laser cut fight stick.

might not be useful for your needs, but you never know...

People have spent a lot of time making ambient soundtracks of the interior of arcades, with many playing at once - to recreate the feeling of being in one

Thats the kind of thing the people in charge of the play did not even know they needed. The drama teachers are going to love it.

this performance also sounds kinda interesting. Any chance of a YouTube video of the performance after it's all done?

A quick little tool I've used for SFX that are 8 bit compatible http://www.drpetter.se/project_sfxr.html there is also a all online version at http://www.superflashbros.net/as3sfxr/. The downloadable version is only 50k so it should be small enough to work with unreliable internet.

It's a middle school play so there are privacy issues. I'll see if there is a way to get a high light wheel on the school website.

That is very cool. It's so easy and fun to play with the students will love it.

I thought I was done but was given a list of needed sounds today. I've added it to the first post.
