I got some super cheap $7 speakers... and now I hear a radio station on them.

Any clue if it's the cord or the cases of the speakers which need more sheilding?

I've never seen this before... its kinda annoying...

but I guess you get what you pay for.

Every set of speakers in my house has this problem, including the telephones. I think thats just a result of living a quarter mile from the broadcast tower though.

  • I dare anything! I am Skeletor!
In college I lived near a freeway. At nights, I would hear noises sometimes, and it would wake me from sleep and FREAK me out.

Sometimes  I would hear quick snippets of conversation... I thought I was going nuts, or that I had a ghost.

One day I happened to  be leaning over one of my speakers, right as a big-rig drove by and I clearly hear CB talk. Mystery solved. That stuff can happen to the best of us.

The security guards where I work use hand hald walkie talkies, and I can sometimes hear them talking on them through my PC speakers.

Had the same thing happening at my parent's house. They've got a Bose built in stereo system and had a neighbor with a CB tower in the backyard. The Bose system's amps basically stay in standby mode, and power up when you turn up the volume. The neighbor's CB was putting out enough signal level to turn the system's amps on and you'd get loud snippets of conversation late at night. It was quite freaky till we figured out what was going on, I solved it by adding an on/off switch to the amp's power circuit.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

I swapped speakers with the kids computer :)

But they turn their sound off when not using it... I keep mine on all day when I work.

And it was only annoying when it was quiet
