Problem with cd100 pickup arm

Like I said in ani-man's post.  Pick up arm didn't pick up cd and came back to far and got stuck against player.  I checked the switches underneath and they seem fine.  Any ideas??

That picture is not very clear but it looks as if rotator assembly is missing (30790603).

Allrite i messed around with it today and it felt like something was binding when I manually moved the arm.  I turned it on and saw that sometimes it would pick up a cd and sometimes it wouldn't.  When it wouldn't one of the sides wouldn't close fast enuff so I sprayed the whole area with silicone lube and it seemed to work.  It always picks up the cds now and played lots of cds.  I received this box from a guy who bought it from a vender and it was sitting in a warehouse for many years.  The guy i got it from couldn't get it to work so he complained and they gave him a wall box and told him to discard this one.  So I went and picked it up even though the player needed a rebuild and i am having a few problems here and there it seems worth it.

You need to strip down that gripper bow assembly completely and wash it in warm soapy water to remove any trace of lubrication when the components are dry check the parts for any wear especially the cam & tunnion gears. Replace any worn parts and rebuild the assemby, put a small amount of high melting point gease in each end of the trunnion casting (this is the only lubrication require on this assembly) I suggust that you remove any of the silicone spay off of the mechanism, it may have worked but it is only a stopgap solution and not a fix.
