Joystick Grease

After routing and layering my omni joysticks from groovy gamer I got some wood bits that are all over the inner core where the stem of the joystick goes.   its easy to clean up but can someone tell me what i need to replace the grease lubricant?

Do I use this stuff?

I've never used that Permatex, but it doesn't sound like what you'd want. I always use a synthetic lubricant, like Super Lube:

any "oil" based grease is really bad for plastic. it will eat into the plastic and turn it brittle, or worse, break it down and turn it soft.

synthetic lubricants (silicone, PTFE, etc.) are about the only "grease" you want to use.

you can skip ALL of that and go with a graphite lubricant. (The powder kind NOT the spray)

So the powder graphite is safe to use in joysticks?
 I've used it for other things and it works great.
I've made the mistake of using incorrect grease before and it was terrible.

I use Dow 33.  Mind you thats only for a couple reasons:
-Lazyness to buy something else.
-I have a TON of it as we use it on paintball guns.

I figure if it works well in my Empire Axe, or Bob Long Intimidators at upwards of 30+ balls a second, then its good enough for the odd Nintendo joystick or near the rubber grommet in my Wico sticks.
