selling an Xbox Debug Kit, Local pickup would be best. It is in perfect condition... all seals are intact and it runs quiet. I really do not have a use for it at the moment. I am keeping this local atm as I haven't gotten an AV cable to check what's on it specifically. I will sell for $300 cash(price is negotiable, from my research this is a fair price), bring by your AV cable and no matter what is on it, it's yours for $300. These things are pretty rare to find in this state, and it's really a joy just to look at it .
I would like to clear up some things.
Yes I got this for $50, if it bothers you that I got something for cheap and I want to sell for a fair price then that's a personal problem.
I am open to reasonable offers! if you truly feel that $300 is so over the top make me an offer that is reasonable.

not trying to be price police, but they were not worth that much 2 years ago and demand has fallen sharply. Based on your debug kit's manufacturer date its a DVT-4 and not worth as much as a 6 is. best of luck with the sale though!

the presumed value is by whats on the hard drive; if its something unreleased people are more willing to part with their hard earned money. There are no known unreleased items anymore, hence the drop off in value. I was going to offer him $50 for it prior to this thread, just for the extra RAM in it.

It's funny you say that. I do not see how me getting it for much less than it's worth makes selling it for what it's worth a bad practice. The price I got it for is highly irrelevant in this. and I did not know asking questions on a forum is pestering....... That is kinda the purpose of a forum, a collection of knowledge so people can find these answers later on easily. nobody begged you to answer my question and I did not find out the answer is "nothing special", actually this piece is pretty interesting to someone who wants to either code on the original xbox, or someone who appreciates the piece for its historic value. So what do DVT-4's usually go for in your personal opinion? I haven't seen one being sold for under $200 and that's with seals broken. the fact that this has not been modded or messed with makes this more valuable in my opinion, and in the opinion of someone who collects something like this.

Sorry for my hostility, I have done research on it's value and I see there are alot of people generally interested in paying a high price for these. I got it for that much but that doesn't mean its worth that much, if you found a $3000 painting at a garage sale and bought it for $20 then found out it's worth $3000 would you sell it for $20 because "well, thats what i got it for"? no you would not.  Fact of the matter is I think it's an interesting piece to have and I know Xbox's can be upgraded to work as a debug but people are genuinely interested in owning a debug kit xbox and not an "xbox with modified ram that can run debug games". By nature they cannot run retail games, there is an easy fix for this that preserves the debug nature of the kit while allowing you to play retail games.

If I bought the painting for $20 and was told it was worth 30 grand later, and found old web searches saying it was worth 30 grand ; but no one would give me 30 grand for it......... then it ain't worth 30 grand.

Fuel, the one by firetoad? That started off as Everglade Rush . Tragic story about Fuel is Firetoad had it done in 2006, it just needed minor bug fixing and some polish; their publisher made them redo the menu structure and all the work was done just in time for microsoft to kill the xbox in 2007 (new menu structure was done in feb 2007, xbox was discontinued in march of 2007). Fuel wasn't released (the Codemasters game wasn't the same) but the un-relesed game has been leaked already.

If the buyer felt it was worth $500 and was willing to pay it then how did he get screwed? The fact that the seller originally got it for $50 is irrelevant.

Honestly I think some of these people can't read. THIS XBOX HAD A KNOWN UNRELEASED GAME ON IT! A game the buyer was very interested in purchasing. It was sold on a forum geared towards these unreleased games. That's it that's all. Some of you missed out at $200 and now you're but hurt because it sold for $500. I love how you're so confident about things you know nothing about. That really shows how intelligent you are    Also, people running a pyramid scheme are not selling a tangible product worth anything, but the idea that they can make more money (A SCAM). The reason why pyramid schemes are illegal is because the people DO NOT receive anything of value. If anything the argument would be that I ripped off the guy I bought it from... Which I didn't because I myself did not know what it was worth when I purchased it.

Mostly I am pissed about the lack of maturity displayed in this thread. I was constantly attacked and called a scammer. I was told there are no known unreleased games. Basically you all decided to make jugements and claims with no proof. Turns out there are MANY MANY MANY known unreleased games... Check out assemblergames forum and you'll see. In addition the Xbox contained the unreleased game FUEL.

Determining what is or isn't thread poisoning is a subjective thing, and I've never particularly liked this rule, but it's in place because of popular demand. I think polite went out the window in this thread sadly, however this thread did not cross my personal threshold for this rule.

I personally don't have a beef with someone getting as much as they can for something they're selling, if they are upfront and honest with the would-be-buyer.

Your link is proof of how accurate my assessment in value was, I estimated $200 ; which is what the person you bought it from said it was worth. He was willing to pay more just for that game, I was not. I have played the game before, I remember the menu music from your video. Your build definitely looked less buggy than the one I remember playing. I was huge into the XBOX scene years ago, I was privy to a ton of not publicly released things.

I never offered you $50, I was going to offer $200 (USD, which is about 1/2 of what you sold it for) and split shipping. I changed my mind based on your attitude. I'm sure you don't mind since you sold the xbox for more than your asking price.
The only piece of software worth $300 or more to me is Photoshop. Personally, I cant justify what you buyer did spend; mortgage payments really put a damper on fun money.

As for immaturity, I do not feel I demonstrated any. I can admit I was wrong when I said you didn't sell it for $500 (which at the time I didnt know was Canadian dollars) but I don't see how I was immature in my delivery of said statement. You however demonstrated it en mass. Rants about how I called you a scammer, was trying to tarnish your reputation, etc. I was illustrating what "perceived value is" not what a scam is, and instead of being mature and asking for clarification or even asking if I was calling you a scammer, you just ran with it.
