Revolution X recreation

So I need a RevX marquee, and Zenomorph got me a busted up one for next to nothing, Im super grateful he got me what he did.

Started off with this:


So then I cracked open the PhotoShops, and got to work.







and ended up with this:

so got the artwork printed, its freakin great.

looks kinda dull when not backlit:


but put a light source behind it and it looks AMAZING!

This is just held up in front of the room light, cant hld it up to the window cause its still overcast/snowing/freezing raining out.

How do you do this step?

I scanned what was left of the marquee I had ,if you look in the bottom right corner you can see the list of layers. "Background" is the base scan layer. Next I basically vectorized the letters which in Photoshop is called "smart objects". After I got them perfect, I rasterized them and added a red stroke to the outside. That's why the R is missing until the end. After I finished everything else up, I basically built the R out of pieces of other letters and free handed the rest of the letter. For example, the hole in the R is just a resized hole from the O  :)

Took about 6 or 7 hours, but I think its worth it.
