Opinions on Flight Sticks for CPO
« on: February 23, 2015, 03:01:27 pm »
Hey guys,

I don't want to install a permanent flight stick on my CPO but I like the idea of being able to use one for the ODD ODD time when I play games like Star Wars trilogy. I know I can buy removable ones that connect via USB but my question is how do they mount? Suction cup on the bottom of the stick? That might F***k up my CPO Overlay.

Does someone have experience with this idea re: removable flight stick?

Thanks

There was a build on here where someone mounted one onto an existing joystick.  Remove the ball/bat top, slide on the stick and then there was a standard headphone jack that handled the buttons.  I'll try to find the thread, but most likely someone else will just link to it while I'm looking (Scott  ;)  )

Thats soooo funny I was going to ask about something like that! I figured that would be a great idea to just unscrew the ball top and place something on top! I just didn't want to sound stupid lol

Thanks so much for the info AzureKnight and Harveybirdman.

Darkade is one great option:

But it wasn't the one I was thinking of...I can't find that one...

One specialized control for one game?

To answer your question, it's been done.  It's up to you I guess.  Have fun.  It's your cab.

RE: suction cups & your CP.  You could put some plexi or lexan over it.

For some of us the solving of a "problem" is more fun than playing the games.

I get it.  My answer wasn't very supportive.  I remember the one with the headphone jack.

Conceivably, a person could underemount the base, try to come up with a quick release for the stick, with the hp jack for the electronics, while keeping a button hole plug for when not in use.
