Model 2 with Ultimarc UHID Issues
« on: February 17, 2015, 09:11:09 am »
I've converted an old Cisco Heat racing cabinet into a multi-cab racer.  Overall it's a good setup, but I'm having issues trying to get my analog controllers to work with Model 2

I'm using an Ultimarc UHID interface to connect to my steering wheel, gas, and brake petals (all analog POT controls).  I can go into windows USB Game controller settings and the controller is there, and calibrated and working properly.  In fact, I have it setup and working inside of MAME to play racing games there just fine.

Problem I'm having is trying to map this setup to Model 2.  The controller config seems to only want to map to gamepad 1-4, none of which seem to map to my configuration.  I've hooked up an XBOX 360 controller and used Xpadder and that works just fine using the Xbox controller, but I want to use my wheel/pedals on my cabinet, not an Xbox controller.

Any ideas or tricks that I can use to get my wheel/pedals working inside of Model 2?

Thanks

First off, since you were using an xbox360 controller, make sure xinput is not enabled in emulator.ini
(Not sure why you would be using xpadder with model 2)

How many controllers do you have showing up in windows (including fake ones)?
Model 2 is touchy about having too many controllers plugged in at once, but it can be worked around by mapping them one at a time, separately.

Are all the axis mapped ok and working?

Do the buttons you are trying to map show up as on the same gamepad as the analog axis?

What are the button #'s you are trying to map?  Some old PC games don't accept buttons above 8 or so (don't remember the exact number).  Model 2 might be the same way.

Badmouth - You are the man!  Such an easy fix once you pointed out the xinput value in the .ini file.  Sure enough it was set to 1, so I changed it to 0, and just like magic my analog control showed up under the config controller setting, and I'm happily playing Daytona now.  Thanks again for the quick response and help.
