Game Genre Issue in Game Lists (Catver stuck in Italian!)
« on: February 10, 2015, 05:08:41 pm »
Hello Everyone -

I made the dummy move of downloading the Italian version of catver during my original setup.  I have since then updated it to English but I am having an issue with creating new game lists from All Games --- still shows these in Italian.  I have re-created mame.xml but that didn't help.  Can anyone lend me a hand as to how to update this field for all games or to selectively change it for some games (changing genre is not available in Gamelist.exe).  I also looked around the forum and can't seem to find a thread explaining the connection of how catver interacts with gamelists.  Any help would be super appreciated.

The mala gamelist is generated using info from mame.info and catver.ini
After replacing both those other things, refresh the main gamelist.

At least that's the way it works when changing things in the xml.
I've never modified catver

Also keep in mind that refreshing the main all games list will not change the info stored in your other gamelists.
A game needs to be deleted from those lists and added back via Mala (not the gamelist editor) to be updated.

The only thing I find the gamelist editor useful for is creating a new gamelist with a  single game in it, which I can then use to add other games to via the option while Mala is running (right click while game is highlighted).
