LED Marquee - where to buy?
« on: February 01, 2015, 11:10:35 am »
The last time I bought a LED strip, it was from Amazon (here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OP3P0QW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

I know they can be bought much cheaper on ebay, can you guys share a link with me? Is this what I want? http://www.ebay.com/itm/5M-3528-5050-5630-LED-Strip-Cool-White-Waterproof-300-or-600-LEDs-Light-Flexible-/301404124410?pt=US_String_Lights_Fairy_Lights&var=&hash=item462d15f4fa?

I will have access to 5v and 12v power supply. The marquee area is around 24" wide. I don't mind doing some soldering or wiring, but would prefer as much of a plug and play solution as possible.

Anyone ever put entire LED strips in their jukebox?    Ive got a R92 with these horrible 11watt bulbs and a shotty light controller.   I was thinking about installing a LED Music Controller:  http://www.amazon.com/Cooligg-Aluminum-Sensor-Controller-Remote/dp/B00FTX1V9W/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1423286858&sr=8-4&keywords=led+light+controller+music

Here is a demo of it:

This particular model needs no input as it has a built-in mic (awesome) works wirelessly (not IR, but radio controlled so it can be hidden) and remembers your last setting on shut-off.     My only problem is the draw:  two strips=6amp.

Thoughts?
