That was a pretty good game but it was so damned depressing I never finished it.

That was a pretty good game but it was so damned depressing I never finished it.

I LOVED THAT GAME! Favourite all time. Start to finish awesome. I have always been a big Max Payne game fan but Max Payne 3 blew my expectations. Too bad it was globally viewed as a sales flop.

While the rest of the game is basically one long melancholy, believe it or not the story actually ends on a much more optimistic note than the other two games.

...Which is kind of funny considering the last stage of 3 is easily the most ultra-violent in the series (and had the greatest soundtrack too).

Also, not sure if I'd call it a spoiler to point out the obvious direction of the plot, but the game does have a strong resurrection theme to it past the halfway mark (after Max tries to quit drinking). It kind of gets drowned out a little by all of the class war imagery but it's really compelling if you've played through the rest of the series.

Ah hell, now I want to play it again. Really did like that game
