Don't worry, you'll stop when you run out of space, or the wife threatens to leave.  Until then, knock yourself out :)

Good find, BTW.

Mine did. I just do it under the radar. She says if I put as much time into our relationship as I put in arcades, our marriage would be perfect. Nah I say she would just think I was a Pu$$y, but that's me

Haha, we're not married. But she just said she'd never care. Besides, she'd just buy more horses.

I'm centre ice at the saddledome right now for a collegiate game, when I get home I'll post more pics and info

I don't normally like that style of cocktail cabinet but I have to say I like the look of that one.  All that black really pops.  Nice haul.

Got it for $50 below his asking price. Not bad really. Even has the keys if you can believe that. Little burn in and the PBC in it is Secret Agent.

http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=9463

I've gotta drive up a couple hours to get it on Saturday. Take a peak at those coin mechs... :)

Truth be told, I'm gonna use it to play my ArcadeSD until I get my DKU built then maybe use the parts left over to build a Caberet

Congrats on the new cocktail! I can't wait to see what you do with it.

I think this is a very addicting hobby. As I work on my mame machine I have been thinking more and more about a couple dedicated cabs. I have even caught myself searching craigslist and kijiji and even ebay for dedicated Galaga machines even though I have zero budget for it right now.

I wonder how many hard core dedicated collectors started by building a multi game machine first.   ???

Many of the ones I've met in person and online started that way, myself included. In a lot of ways, you learn to gain a better appreciation of the dedicated games.

Sly Spy is a fun game, I believe I had the board at some point and I still have a NOS adhesive marquee for it.
This forum needs more threads about Arcade 1Up cabinets.

I'm wondering what it originally was. It looks like an Atari cocktail to me, but some stuff on it doesn't match up with the Atari's I've seen. The mechs are different, as is that "vent band". Interesting.

I've been thinking that same thing. I don't know enough about this yet to be able to determine what's what simply by the pictures. So I'm kinda excited about what I'll find. I've been givin assurances it's working quite well, and a little history of the machine itself by the owner. But he knew nothing about arcades, it's just been sitting in his shop for a few years and wanted to get rid of it now that he's turning his shop into a Paint shop he doesn't want it damaged. I told him I'd give it a good home.

I think those are Asahi Seiko mechs arnt they?

That's what they look like. The control panels are Atari-style, the mechs Nintendo. If the monitor layout is original, then it was a horizontal game. Should be fun.

That is a nice cocktail. I definitely want to find one of these for myself and turn it into a vertical display for a dedicated Hat Trick (one of the greatest vs. hockey games in the arcade).  We used to have little tournaments with that game, and developed a few cool techniques/moves like rebound goals, spin-o-rama's, and dump-and-chase plays. It gets really competitive against people that know what they're doing to get around the defending player, as well as "lock them up" from forcing the play to switch them from paying attention to the skater to the goalie.

But I love the aesthetic of this cabinet because of the more slim-form of the midway/bally style woodgrain cocktails.

A Hat Trick would be cool.  Really cool actually.

I posted it up over on KLOV to see if anyone else has any more insight.

Got it for $50 below his asking price.

Just wondering.  I don't usually ask, but I passed on a DK cocktail that was priced at $250 or so. It wasn't  nearly in that shape though.

Based on that reply on KLOV and a quick search of Google, looks like it may have been a Sega indeed.

Yeah i was thinking that, but i spent the last half hour looking at pictures of the SEGA's, but this thing is either A. Heavily modified. or B. not a SEGA.

No no no, it's not a SEGA, it's a modified Taito cocktail.

Looks very similar to this Missile Command one:  http://www.classicarcadegaming.com/forums/index.php?topic=4154.0

That is more plausible, but the feet and upper body don't match any Taito i can find.

Possibly,  But look at the feet, totally different, and the area to the left of the CP on that Zaxxon, I Think we're getting closer.

Well, it's been converted already and it's not easily identifiable, so I say make it a kick-ass custom (but don't do any weird ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- to it!).
