  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Hey all. Thanks in advance for the help. So im running an ipac4 with a utrak and ultimarc spinner. They all work fantastic but i have a few questions. Ive only now gotten around to trying out the utrak with games such as golden tee and crystal castles, and the controlling is rough. On one end, the utrak is physically not very loose. If i spin it straight up it will always veer to the left. I feel a little wd40 on the inside would help, but dont know if theres anything else i can do on the hardware end. On the flip, the controlling on games like crystal castles is pretty off, even when im manually moving the ball where i want to go, so what kind of settings do you play with or suggest to toy around with it? Ive set my utrak inputs in mame by selecting the general player inputs and setting all the axis. Im getting proper movements out of the, just not as good as I believe I can get out of the utrak. Same applies with the spinner. It moves left and right as it should, but what kind of settings do some of you adjust for max accuracy? Arkanoid for instance is pretty jumpy movement for me. Are there cfg files or any custom lists someone has made with good tested settings for any trackballs?

Thanks, im excited to finally crack into my spinner and trackball games

To add, my input settings are as follows. I now have crystal castles working nicely!, but then i try a game like centiped and i can barely move left or right without the mouse also going up or down.

My settings are the same for mouse and trackball:

mouse x analog = mouse 2 X
Mouse x analog dec = mouse 2 X -
Mouse x analog inc= Mouse  2 X +
Mouse y analog = mouse 2 Y
Mouse y analog dec = mouse 2 Y -
Mouse y analog inc = mouse 2 Y +
